Bagaholicboy Muses #98 - Louis Vuitton ION Orchard Singapore

Here are more bits and pieces from the newly opened global store in Orchard Road, the Louis Vuitton ION Orchard boutique in Singapore for the benefit of those in the region.

Walk through the main entrance and be immediately greeted by a curved 9 m Bag Bar just for women, the first of its kind in Asia. The men get a shorter 6 m Bag Bar nearby. Not bad at all in my opinion.

Climb up the marble circular stairway and be greeted by a wall of fine leather goods. If they don't get to your wallet on the first floor, they will on the second. How clever...

Aptly called 'Women's Universe', everything you'll need from RTW to acccessories are beautifully laid out in this space.

The boys need not feel left out either. The 'Men's Universe' is specially just for us, with mahogany floors and leather chairs. Besides the areas shown above, there are additional niches for men's accessories (ties, cufflinks and the like), and even one just for women's shoes. And for those of you who have already visited the duplex boutique, do share your experiences with us here ok?

Bagaholicboy Muses #97 - Friday Mailbag!

This edition of mailbag almost became an all Balenciaga one, unfortunately I was 2 submissions short. Not that it is a big deal, though it would have been as fun as the all Mulberry one I just did recently. Of the 4 Balenciaga submissions, 3 were purchased from HGBags, while the fourth is from Interesthing, so thank you all for supporting my sponsors.

First up, the lovely Balenciaga City in Anthracite (see #1) which is Phoebe Fong's first Balenciaga as well. Gorgeous! And trust me Phoebe, it's a slippery road from here on, you will be getting more for sure because no one stops at one. Next we've got Sherine's Balenciaga Work in Ciel (see #2), one of my favourite colours this season. And no, we are not nearly done yet. Last but not least are Lilian's 2 new babies, a flat clutch in Automne and a Coin Purse in Praline (see #3). Lovely!

Time for a quick break from Balenciaga and on to Louis Vuitton. J.L asked me not to reveal her full name and I can actually understand why. Especially since she just got herself the SGD4020 Monogram Canvas Irene (see #4) and hasn't broken the news to her family just yet. Back to Balenciaga, this time a Weekender (see #5) that Fatah picked up recently at Interesthing when he came over for a holiday. I'm not exactly sure what shade of green that is, so if anyone knows chime in ok? And last but not least, an all-time favourite of mine, a Miu Miu Coffer in Marron (see #6) which Adriana grabbed when she was in London.

Great haul guys!

Fall-Winter 2009 Womens Marc by Marc Jacobs

It's time for more eye candy ladies, so without further ado, here are my picks from the Fall-Winter 2009 Womens Marc by Marc Jacobs collection. Clearly new additions to the family, I have never seen any of them before. Take the Marc by Marc Jacobs Evie for example. A doubled-over leather handle set over a bulbous leather body with side zips. And to finish it off, a buckle in the shape of a little bird.

Then there's this, a simple satchel in leather finished off with gold hardware. An instant classic that's great for work or play.

I don't know why but this hobo reminds me of something that Louis Vuitton had a couple of seasons back. Remember the Paris Souple Whisper? While that's more refined, the one here is more rugged, but in a good way.

I actually adore this, the Marc by Marc Jacobs Baby Aidan, which comes with its own removable shoulder strap. A variant of the Dr. Q series, its half-dome shape, front pleats and gold hardware come together perfectly don't you think? Interestingly, LUISAVIAROMA already has this in stock in Taupe (I called our local boutique and nothing is in yet) at EUR366.67 a pop, or around SGD745.

Fall-Winter 2009 Mens YSL

Here' s a small sampling of what the guys can expect from the Fall-Winter 2009 Mens YSL collection. While I am not 100% sure if everything here will make it to Singapore, I'm pretty sure some have already made their debut. Everything is pretty much muted and sedate, with the exception of the shoes, but we'll save those for later.

First up, the bags. In the montage above we've got the YSL Muse Messenger, and something I've never seen before, the YSL Deconstructed Canvas Tote. I love the fact that the buckles and handles seem to be one seamless piece that just goes round and round. As for SLGs, there is a small collection with engraved front plates, set on leather in Black. There is a zip around wallet, a card holder, a regular wallet and so on. It's rather mixed for the accessories, including a canvas belt, bullet cufflinks and a double leather bracelet.

But what I love the most have got to be the shoes, especially the YSL Y Detail Sneaker in White. Don't you just adore the blue trim against the patent leather body? And for those who want to tower over others, check out the boot that features a 6 cm heel. Besides Bordeaux, it also comes in Navy, with both pairs in shiny leather.
